Pois é, o popular tracker privado de BitTorrent está a ser afectado por alguns problemas de DNS – o protocolo da Internet que permite traduzir automaticamente um conjunto de números relativos ao IP num nome fácil de memorizar pelos humanos.
Para cúmulo a empresa que registou o endereço original oink.me.uk decidiu também suspender o domínio. Assim, pelo menos temporariamente a única opção que resta aos dependentes deste site de acesso restrito é aceder através de http://85.17.40.71.
Os utilizadores mais experientes podem também editar o ficheiro Hosts e acrescentar a seguinte informação para continuarem a aceder ao site, ao tracker e ao canal de IRC do OiNK. A dica dada pelos próprios administradores do OiNK vem do TorrentFreak.
We apologise for the continuing DNS problems. You can get around this by adding our hostnames directly to your hosts file. Add the following lines to your \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file (the number of spaces between the IP and the name doesn’t matter as long as there’s at least one space (or tab):
85.17.40.69 tracker.oink.me.uk
85.17.40.70 irc.oink.me.uk
85.17.40.71 oink.me.uk
Actualização (3 de Julho): Devido aos referidos problemas com o DNS, o OiNK vai mudar de domínio – de me.uk vai passar a poder ser acedido apenas em oink.cd. Apesar da mudança de nome, o endereço IP do tracker e do servidor irá permanecer inalterado:

Please also re-download any torrents you may have in your clients in order to update the tracker address. Torrents downloaded from now on will contain 2 tracker addresses, the new OiNK.cd domain, and the tracker’s IP address, which should make any future DNS issues less serious. They will also contain the site’s IP address in the torrent comment field, in case of future problems.
